Services in Simcoe County for Children and Youth 7-18 years

 TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE

    Welcome

This service guide will help you locate community services to which you may refer families and children or youth who have exhibited behavioural issues.

     Topic Streams

There are 12 Topic Streams to search which will help guide you to appropriate services.  Choose the location under each topic for a list of services.  Click on the organization name (in blue font) to be linked to the 211 record where contact information including eligibility, service description, hours of service and other information can be found.  DO NOT ASSUME that only one topic stream will address all the issues facing the child/family.

For an issue(s) that requires a general consultation, go to the “General Counselling Services” Topic Stream for organizations who will provide an initial consultation to identify issues and provide referrals to relevant community services.

What is Included?
1. The target age group for these services is 6-18 years old.
2. Services related to “teen pregnancy” are found under the “Parenting” topic stream.
3. Services related to “sexual abuse/assault therapy, counseling and clinics” are found under the “Mental Health” topic stream.
4. Basic medical screening services are included in case medical issues are causing children to be distracted/distracting.

What is Not Included?
1. Programs that require a referral from another organization or qualified individual.
2. Programs which are ‘ever-changing’ or too numerous to include. (e.g. support groups, summer camps, sports teams, private organizations or specialists). There are links to the website www.InfoSimcoeCounty.ca to search for these directly.
3. The inclusion/exclusion policy for 211 Central East can be found on the website InfoSimcoeCounty.ca

When and What to Print
Approximately 80% of all records in the database changes in any year; as soon as paper is printed it is basically out-of-date. All contact description and eligibility information within the record is updated regularly. Print the records on the website if you want to have a copy of service details.
